We chose the CL82307 as it was the best value, three sets of phones and the base, to replace a 17 year old AT&T cordless. The old three piece set that had batteries going out and those were $52.00 for EACH phone (ouch!). Time for a new cordless phone. The CL82307 batteries are currently $8.00 per phone. So yes, checked that!
Speaking of batteries, this phone's talk time is measure in HOURS where the old phone was more like MINUTES. New stuff is way more efficient, and the frequency (~ 1.921-1.928 GGHz) for DECT 6.0 compliant phone has been moved to not intefere with wi-fi or have your micro-wave knoock off your phone call.
The phone's OS was pretty much the same as the old phone, but with caller I.D. (annouinces very clearly) and a far superior directory (1,000 entries). The set-up for that was easy, as you just use the blue tooth connectivity to download your CELL phone address book with phone numbers. I down loaded mine, and my wife's CELL phone, and presto all our typical calls are available. But 1,000 entries seems like a lot to scroll through one at a time, yes? But it isn't too bad if you use the jump feature. Jump uses the number key to quickly jump to letters. If you press #3 once for example, you jump to "D" adddress book listing. Press #3 twice you jump tp "E" listings so on and so fourth for each number pads alphanumeric entry. You only need to then scross within that letter's entries.
All the base phone's setting go to the satellite phone automatically, where the older phone had a hidden "broadcaste" feature to do that operation, this new phone does it automatically. So once and done as they say.
Voice quality is really clear and crisp, so no complaints on that.
The voice mail (at your provider's cloud) versus phone mail (in the phone's receiver station) was a problem, however, as the instructions are not proper to use BOTH at the same time. Here is the catch, you need to set the rings to be FEWER than the VOICE mail needs to answer in order for the PHONE mail to answer the call. For example, if I set the rings to six, only VOICE mail answers, If I set the rings to three, the PHONE mail and the VOICE mail both answer. Or, you can turn either or "off".
I like PHONE mail as it is displayed in the satellite LED base with the number of missed calls and also allows a 1.5 second interval BEEP to be heard if you turn that feature on to audibly let you know a call was missed. VOICE mail does show a missed call in the handset display, but that's it, you need to go look at the phone's display, then dial the prvider's voice mail to retrieve missed calls.
All in all this is a great phone in the initial use and set-up. Will it last seventeen years and going for the old phone? Not sure. It isn't built as well as the old phone but what is. For ~$65.00 for three phones I can't complain. It has the features I use and want and not the exotic satellite base we don't use. We opted for the basic feature set that is still a luxury compared to the old phone. The phone rates really well and so far I agree with the ratings. OK, it has fewer base features, but that's not going to bother me at all. I never use them. Maybe you won't need the exotic base features either, and if not check out this phone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Call Screening is Fabulous
Reviewed in the United States on November 30, 2018
Size: 4 HandsetsStyle: Cordless PhoneVerified Purchase
I have had this phone for a month now and it has been working great. I previously had an older model AT&T phone that did not have built-in call screening or call blocking and I had added an external call blocker. This one has all of that build in and it works great! In fact, the call screening works so great that I have not yet added a single phone number into the block list because all of the telemarketer calls are hanging up at the call screening! The old external call blocker would ring the phone one time and then it would hang up on the blocked calls. This one NEVER even rings! It is wonderfully quiet again! You can add your family and friends to your caller ID list to allow them to bypass the call screening and you can add special callers like the electric company or codered messages for important calls that you don't know the phone numbers by just entering the name and they will also be allowed to get through. I go through the Caller ID list to see who called every day and if I see someone I missed or one of the emergency or utility numbers I want, I add them to my list. I have read some reviews saying the sound is bad, but it is fine to me. It did sound somewhat distorted when I first got it, but I found that the volume was turned way up and when I turned it down, it sounds OK. I have been trying to use them on battery instead of always having them on the charging stand in order to get the batteries to get a workout. They have a long life on the batteries. I generally plug them in on Sunday and unplug them on Monday not because they needed charging yet on Sunday, but it is just convenient for me. They still had plenty of charge. The display is clear to read and lights up brightly when a call comes in or you make a call. After you finish doing anything on the phone it turns the backlight off after a few seconds to help conserve battery power. The keys are backlit in red, which doesn't show up very much in the daytime, but in the dark at night they are fine. I have the set with four phones. One is in another building in an art studio over the detached garage and it works fine from there. It was easy to set up after reading the manual. I went online and found the full user manual and the callblocker overview and saved them to my computer for easy future reference.

5.0 out of 5 stars If you have problems with robocalls, BUY THIS PHONE
Reviewed in the United States on April 2, 2020
Size: 4 HandsetsStyle: Cordless PhoneVerified Purchase
The headline is the overall summary of this review -- if you have issues with robocalls on your home phone, buy this. Period. We were receiving 4-5 robobcalls every day, including Saturday and up to 9pm, and I had already filled up the call blocking filter of our previous phone from Panasonic. I found this AT&T after doing extensive research into our options since the NOMOROBO service did very little, and Verizon's call blocking (the free one) does very little. The Panasonic phones needed new batteries so I figured I'd look into a new system entirely. Very glad that I did.
The AT&T phone is easy enough to set up and works perfectly in terms of signal and call clarity. It's probably a little bit better than the older Panasonic for call quality, but it's hard to say really. I do like that the base and charging stations have a minimal footprint on table, counter, desk, etc. The intercom feature is also a good one and easy to use.
I set ours to allow only phone calls in our directory, and other callers have to identify themselves and press # to ring through. The only issue has been that if the caller ID doesn't match the directory entry (the text even, not just the number), the call will be screened. I entered the number for our dentist in the directory to prevent call screening, but when they called, they were screened the first time because what shows up on caller ID is abbreviated. However, the receptionist identified herself, and the call came through. I entered the number into the directory from the caller ID, and their next call was not screened. Easy.
NO MORE ROBOCALLS!!!! Seriously, blissful silence. We went from having 4-5 robocalls to maybe 1-2 calls that still come in but aren't heard. The only sign that someone has tried is the phone lights up briefly, and there's a notification on the phone of how many calls were screened (so if someone doesn't ring through, you can call them back). For those not in the directory (doctors, dentist, vet, etc.), the callers have IDed themselves, and then we added them to the directory for future calls. I wish we had purchased this phone several years ago because it's worth it's weight in gold.
The only gripe I have is that the handsets themselves are a little slick to hold. The plastic is very smooth and slides easily in my hands. That's pretty minor for us; however, though if someone has issues with arthritis, it might be a problem.
I am ecstatic about this phone though, which is weird to write. It's literally saved us from hundreds of calls in just a few weeks, and you can't put a value on peace and quiet. Thank you, AT&T!

5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely LOVE this phone system!

My husband and I REALLY love this phone system - it has soo many features that I love!! One of my favorite features is: If someone calls and its not a number that is recognized it will light up as "Unavailable" and it will as the person to state their name and if they don't the call will not come through!! It is a game changer if you get bombarded with telemarketers!! I also really love the fact that they can work like walkie-talkies (intercom system) we have a two story home and if I'm upstairs and my husband wants to tell me something when he's downstairs all he needs to do is use the intercom feature to talk to me - gone are the days of screaming up and down to each other!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Smart Call Blocking feature ROCKS!
Reviewed in the United States on October 29, 2017
Size: 3 HandsetsStyle: Cordless PhoneVine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )Verified Purchase
I have been using a Panasonic system with a basic call block function and a 250 number memory. It only took a couple of years to fill that up! Then if I want to block a number I needed to remove a previous blocked number first. So that inspired me to look around for a new system and I spotted this AT&T model with a much more sophisticated, customizable call block feature; and it will store up to 1000 blocked numbers!
The first thing you have to do is choose one of the 5 configurations for call blocking
1. Allow all calls except those on the block list.
2. Screen any call from a number not saved in the Directory, Allow list, or Star name list. The caller will be prompted to announce their name and press #.
3. Screen only calls that do not display a phone number. The caller will be prompted to announce their name and press #.
4. Screen robocalls only. All callers will be prompted to press # to ring through.
5. Block calls that do not display a phone number, and send any calls from numbers not saved in the Directory, Allow list, or Star name list to the answering system.
You can also manually add a number to the block list and from a caller ID.
I chose to use option #5 and needed to spend some time completing the Directory, Allow and Star name list entries to make sure all the calls I want to get through are able to. For the rest; if it’s important they will leave a message.
The phone will ring once when an unassigned number calls before it goes to the answering system. You do have the option to screen the call from a handset if desired. It won’t ring at all for anonymous callers.
The handsets have a dedicated call block button you can use while on a call. Once you press the call block button and confirm the block it will announce; “The number you are calling is not accepting your call. Please hang up”.
Annoying: The system will record empty messages fairly consistently if the caller does not hang up right away after the announcement starts. The 10 ring tones vary from,” I could live with that”, to “Please make it stop”.
The system has been working like a charm and I’m not bothered at all with unwanted calls anymore. I am using this with VOIP service.
I have focused on the call blocking, but this phone system has a lot of handy features including “Push to talk” to use like a two way radio. Included in the box is a 110 page “Abridged” user’s manual. There is an even more detailed manual available online at the manufacture web site. I find it helpful to look at owner’s manuals online when researching products to determine if the item will fit my needs.
