This phone system was well worth the wait. Set up was a snap. The directions were easy to follow. The only thing that bothered me was that there was no color code inside the battery compartment as indicated. I charged the phone for 16 hours. Each of the 3 phones were already registered. Both caller ID & the answering machine were set up & functional. Instructions setting up directory were easy to follow as were those of setting up individual ring tones on each of the 3 phones. A new message left on the answering machine was clearly audible. I enjoy using the speaker phone which comes through loud & clear. The lighted display on the white phone shows up as bright orange when placing a call & the key pad is large enough to be easily seen. I am well pleased with this phone's set up & performance.
THIS PHONE OPERATES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE INTERNET & GOES THROUGH A MODEM-NOT WITH LANDLINE JACK. IF YOUR HOUSE HAS BEEN RECENTLY REWIRED, YOU WILL BE FINE. ALSO, YOU WILL NEED A DSL FILTER WHICH IS NOT INCLUDED NOR CAN ONE BE PURCHASED THROUGH AT&T. I PURCHASED A RCA DSL FILTER FROM BEST BUY. COMCAST WAS OF NO HELP WHEN CALLED TO INQUIRE IF THEY SUPPLIED A THEIR OWN FILTER. I WOULD HAVE PURCHASED A DSL FILTER FROM AMAZON IF I HAD KNOWN THIS IN ADVANCE. OTHERWISE, I AM PLEASED WITH MY PURCHASE. I HAVE HAD NO ISSUES WITH INTERFERENCE WITH COMPUTER AS SPEED HAS REMAINED FAST. VOICES ON THE PHONE ARE LOUD & DISTNCT WITHOUT ECHO. NO PROBLEMS NOTED WITH OTHER ELECTRONIC DEVISES REQUIRING THE INTERNET DUE TO RECENT PHONE INSTALLATION.

I bought these AT&t phones through Amazon warehouse. This was my first experience using Amazon warehouse and I was really pleased and surprised. The telephones were listed as like new and they truly were. The box had absolutely no damage and it appeared that had never even been opened. The plastic cellophane was on the handsets the batteries were unopened and unused and everything was flawless. I don't believe anybody ever touched these phones except for me and that somebody just changed their mind and returned them for whatever reason. As for the phones themselves this is a tremendous set because you get three phones and an answering machine. My old phone that I had bought an emergency was not expandable and I did not realize that at the time. Since I live in a house with two floors it was a pain in the neck to have to keep running up and down the stairs when the phone rang so now I have three like I am accustomed to from the past and it is so much easier. To set these up was a breeze. Everything was very self-explanatory so I didn't even have to use the little self-help manual that teaches you what to do. It was very easy to set the volume the time and to record my own message although there is a pre-recorded message available if you choose to use it.
The phones have big numbers on them so it's easier to see for us older folks and they're all backflip which is a plus. My old phone didn't even have a speaker phone so how basic is that. There are times and you really need to put somebody on speaker phone and this phone also has an intercom system so that you can have more than one person on listening at a time or you can go and use the other phone and pick up and finish your conversation from one floor to the next from one phone to the next. So far I am really pleased at the quality of these phones. They are lightweight compared to the older phones but that is to be expected these days. Everything seems to be made much later weight. I don't know how long they will last but the AT&t has always been a good brand and I hope that these will last me for many years.

I am legally blind in one eye and have decreased vision in the other due to AMD (Advanced Macular Degeneration). One of the most difficult tasks for me to do was to use my portable handsets to see who is calling or to make a call.
When making a call, the "backlight" on these phones is bright orange and the number keys have bold black lettering which has made it so easy. The part of the phone that shows who is calling has a "white backlight" and that is still hard to read without a magnifying glass but if the manufacturer also changed that to orange, this would be the perfect phone.
Bottom line, these handsets have made it a lot easier for me.
